Reviews and Ratings
The hotel has quirky rooms with some small issues but is located perfectly on the High Street. The staff is helpful and friendly, making for a pleasant stay. However, the noise from the pub area could be bothersome.
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The room wasn't attended to daily as in a regular hotel, which I found acceptable for a pub, but some basic services like making the bed and restocking coffee were missed. The location over the main pub area made it noisy, especially with the room facing the road, adding to the noise levels. On the positive side, the service was accommodating and welcoming, and the hotel's decor was trendy and well-decorated.
My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The room was a bit chilly, so I had to keep the radiator on, but overall, it was a good size with decent facilities. However, cleanliness was a concern, and the mix of three types of wallpaper made it feel a bit outdated. The service was a bit lacking on the morning of my departure, but the staff overall were lovely, helpful, and friendly, truly a credit to the hotel. The location was perfect for visiting Malmesbury, despite the early morning delivery lorry noise. The barn-style setting added a unique charm, but the early closing hours were a downside. The dining experience was really nice and set me up well for the day, with first-class offerings, though I wish there was more flexibility to discuss any issues at check out.
